Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Group has held an inauguration ceremony for a 10-MW green hydrogen plant aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of its Danube Refinery in Szazhalombatta, Hungary. The electrolysis unit, delivered by US hydrogen solutions specialist Plug Power Inc (NASDAQ:PLUG), will start production in the second half of 2024. Powered by renewable electricity, it will be capable of generating 1,600 tonnes of green hydrogen per year which will be mainly used in MOL’s own network for fuel production.
