Emirati national oil company Adnoc has shipped “thousands of tonnes” of blue ammonia to Mitsui in Japan for use in power generation. this is the world’s first certified bulk commercial shipment of blue ammonia, the state-owned corporation says. This shipment also marks the first time that Adnoc has stored CO2 captured from hydrogen and ammonia production in a carbonate saline aquifer, rather than using it in downstream processes.
