The government of Argentina plans to launch a national and international public tender for the majority stakes of four large hydroelectric plants located in Neuqué, International Water Power reports. The move came several months after Argentina’s federal government published a decree that created the structure for the continued, private operation of hydroelectric plants in the Comahue area, which includes the Neuquén province. The decree extended the plants’ concessions for another year but also required the Energy Secretariat (SE) to hold a public tender by February 12, 2025, according to global law firm DLA Piper.
