Apparatus to sinter material (130), the material being placed for sintering on a metal foil (135) to provide a bilayer structure, the apparatus comprising: a furnace to heat the material; furniture (700) on which the bilayer structure is placed to move through the furnace; wherein the furniture comprises a first plate (720) made of material selected from the group consisting of alumina (Al2O3), zirconium toughened alumina (ZTA), mullite (3Al2O32SiO2 or 2Al2O3SiO2), aluminum nitride (AlN), or silicon carbide (SiC); wherein the furniture further comprises a second plate (710) made of material selected from the group consisting of alumina (Al2O3), zirconium toughened alumina (ZTA), mullite (3Al2O32SiO2 or 2Al2O3SiO2), aluminum nitride (AlN), or silicon carbide (SiC), the second plate being disposed above the bilayer structure; a frame (600) interposed between the bilayer structure and the second plate; and a controller to control a temperature of the furnace and to control a duration of application of heat to the material; wherein the controller is configured to control the temperature of the furnace so that the material is sintered in a temperature range between 1050°C and 1250°C; and wherein the controller is configured to control the temperature of the furnace to heat the material for a period of time ranging between 30 seconds and 3 minutes so as to sinter the material. |
