탄소섬유를 음극 집전체로 사용하는 이차전지에서 탄소섬유와 탭(전극 단자)의 재질이 달라 전력 인출이 어렵다는 공정 문제를 해결하는 음극 시트 구조에 관한 것이다. 음극 시트는 다수의 탄소섬유층으로 이루어진 시트 본체와 탭, 그리고 이 둘을 잇는 연결 부재로 구성되며, 다수 탄소섬유층 가운데 적어도 두 층이 연결 부재에 연결되고 탭은 연결 부재를 통해 시트 본체와 전기적으로 이어진다. 핵심은 탄소섬유층의 한쪽 끝을 계단 구조로 가공해 둘 이상의 계단면을 형성하고 이 계단면들을 연결 부재에 부착하는 점으로, 연결 부재 끝을 역계단 형상으로 맞추거나 금속 메시를 연결 부재로 사용하는 실시예를 포함한다. 이를 통해 탄소섬유에 금속을 도금한 뒤 탭을 용접하는 기존 방식의 공정 복잡도와 시간, 비용을 줄이면서 접촉 면적을 키워 전력 인출 성능을 확보하고 대량생산 적용성을 높이는 것이 목표이다. 특허 원문 발췌
