US partners have announced plans for a multi-billion-dollar clean ammonia production facility as part of the Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub (ARCH2) application. Planned for Mingo County, West Virginia, US, and set to be developed by Adams Forks Energy and the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, the plant is expected to have an initial ammonia production capacity of 2.1 million tonnes per year. The developers have also entered into a strategic partnership with natural gas producer, CNX, to provide fuel and carbon sequestration services for the project. Haldor Topsoe will provide its SynCOR™ clean ammonia technology for the plant.
