ACEN Corp, the listed energy platform of Philippine conglomerate Ayala Group, on Wednesday unveiled plans to build a 1-GW floating solar park in Luzon, in the northern part of its home country. The company has signed a renewable energy contrack area utilisation agreement with the Laguna Lake Development Authority to lease land for the scheme. A site of around 800ha within Laguna Lake, the Philippines' largest freshwater lake in the province of Laguna, will become home to the photovoltaic arrays. "We are committed to expanding our clean our clean energy assets while addressing land scarcity," said Eric Francia, ACEN's president and CEO.
