According to reports, Volkswagen Group recently put solid-state batteries to test via its in-house battery company PowerCo. The test revealed that the new battery tech showcased little to no degradation even after 3,10,000 miles or 1000 charging cycles, which is much more than the average life of a vehicle, irrespective of its powertrain type. As per the VW Group, the cells of the solid-state battery barely aged and still had 95% of its energy retention at the end of the test - well above the industry requirement of 80%.
