ALBAWABA - Hamad Ali Al Marri Director of the Land Transport Licensing Department has said during Expo 2023 at Doha, that the Ministry of Transport (MoT) aims to progressively transition 100 percent of Qatar's fleet of public buses to electric models by 2030 as reported by Zawya. According to Al Marri, current operating rate of electric buses has reached around 70 percent, adding that it’s made possible by an integrated infrastructure which offers a number of advantages, most notably are lower energy and fuel costs, a decrease in pollutants and the country's carbon footprint, and an overall improvement in people's quality of life.
