Electricity generation in Europe is greener than ever, Eurelectric said on Monday, with renewable and low-carbon energy sources accounting for 74% of power produced in the EU in the first half of 2024. The share grew substantially from 68% in 2023, driven by a record renewables influx along with stabilisation of the nuclear fleet, Eurelectric, a body representing the interests of the European electricity industry, said.
