Suomen Lantakaasu has commissioned Finland's first industrial-scale liquefied biogas production facility in Nurmo, representing a significant milestone in the country's efforts to build a nationwide renewable gas ecosystem and develop alternatives to fossil fuels in heavy transport. The facility, developed by Nurmon Bioenergia (majority-owned by Suomen Lantakaasu, a joint venture between Valio and St1 Biokraft, with Atria Finland holding minority shares) has commenced operations with an annual production capacity of approximately 100 GWh of liquefied biogas, equivalent to 10 million litres of diesel.
