While there is a good sign of increase of consumption in the rural India to 21.5 kg per capita for the year 2020-21 as compared to 19 KG per capita for the financial year 2019-20, this is far below the national average. In order to increase the consumption of steel in rural areas, the rural people should be kept informed about the use of steel, its life cycle cost so that they will be attracted to use steel.
